My Journey:
From Office Life
to Healing Hearts
In my 20s, I followed the typical professional path, working diligently in an office and meeting the demands of a career. Yet, even as I pushed forward, there was a persistent, quiet voice inside me—a yearning for something more meaningful. I discovered immense joy in connecting with children, seeing their smiles, and supporting their growth. While working, I began tutoring and volunteering with children, sensing that my true calling lay in helping young minds navigate their struggles.
As I spent more time with children and teenagers, I noticed a troubling pattern. Many carried invisible wounds—beliefs shaped by painful experiences that blocked their potential and hindered their ability to thrive. I saw how these emotional barriers diminished their self-belief and drained their motivation. Witnessing their struggle stirred something deep within me; I couldn’t ignore their pain.
When I turned into 30s, something within me shifted. I felt the urge to follow my passion—to help children and young people rediscover their confidence, embrace positive mindsets, and heal from the wounds holding them back. My interest in psychology grew, particularly in understanding how healing the mind impacts behavior and transforms lives.
Determined to deepen my knowledge, I paused my career and flew to Canada to study early child education. I was deeply moved by the understanding that the early years of life shape so much of who we become. This passion led me to dive even deeper, and before long, I transitioned into psychology and psychotherapy, driven by a desire to help people—particularly children—heal from their pain and reach their full potential.
This journey eventually led me to become a school counsellor—a role where I could create a safe space for children to seek support. Over the years, I have worked with young children and teenagers facing immense challenges: some couldn’t attend school, some felt unsafe at home, and others struggled to connect with friends. Many were grappling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, intrusive memories and uncomfortable behaviours. These were burdens far too heavy for young minds to bear alone.
My work focuses on uncovering what blocks a child’s mind from embracing their true self. With support, I’ve seen children reconnect with their innate strengths—the “self-energy” that lies within all of us. This energy is waiting to be discovered, not buried under pain or fear.
My work has also brought me into the lives of adults who are still carrying the wounds of their childhood. Acting as a compassionate mediator between parents and children—or between couples—I have witnessed profound moments of understanding and connection. When we learn to see each other’s pain with compassion, healing becomes a shared journey. My ultimate goal is not just to be a healer but to inspire families and communities to support one another with empathy and love.
I believe that therapists and counsellors should only be necessary for the most complex cases. Ideally, we as a society can become healers for one another, offering kindness and support in unexpected moments of pain. Because, as human beings, we are capable of profound transformation and resilience when we connect through love.
